I am experienced in community counseling settings. I am passionate about working with adolescents and young adults as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, trust issues, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. My approach is client-centered, and I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with other evidence-based practices to support emotional growth, resilience, and meaningful connections.

I deeply value authenticity, balance, and self-discovery—both in my professional work and personal life. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my pets, connecting with loved ones, and finding creative outlets that bring joy and inspiration.

What drives me most in this work is the privilege of witnessing transformation—watching clients gain clarity, reclaim their voice, and build lives aligned with their values. Therapy is a space for exploration and empowerment, and I strive to create a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported.

I look forward to meeting you!

Hello, my name is Robert Gonzalez, and I am an LPC-Associate at Love and Guidance Counseling Center. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.

My passion lies in helping children and adults develop fun and engaging coping strategies to navigate the stresses of daily life as they grow and flourish. I entered this field not only to support individuals but also to contribute to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health—especially within the Hispanic community.

My therapeutic approach integrates elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to create a supportive and effective healing environment.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy watching movies from my extensive collection, mentoring youth in my church, and spending quality time with my loved ones.

Hello! I’m an LPC-Associate in the state of Texas with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas A&M University–San Antonio. I was born and raised in Laredo, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the critical role mental health services play in our community. My passion for counseling began during my undergraduate studies, where I discovered the transformative power of providing individuals with a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and individualized space for growth and healing. My approach to therapy draws from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. These modalities help clients tap into their own strengths and resilience to work toward meaningful change and personal goals. I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations—children, adolescents, and adults—in a variety of settings, including youth centers, university counseling centers, and private practice. In my work, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to express themselves authentically. I incorporate techniques that encourage mindfulness, challenge negative thinking patterns, and promote holistic self-care. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending quality time with loved ones, cooking, baking, and traveling. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
